The best list of Masonic Lodges that existed when (and after) the formation of The United Grand Lodge of Victoria (UGLV) in 1889 can be found by clicking the button below.
Masonic lodges existed in Victoria prior to UGLV being established. Some did not survive to join the new Grand Lodge founded in 1889, but were still significant in the colony. The list on this page is to catch all those lodges and will especially help researchers navigate what can be some very interesting, but also confusing waters.
EC = "English Constitution" for United Grand Lodge of England, aka UGLE.
IC = "Irish Constitution" for Grand Lodge of Ireland.
SC = "Scottish Constitution" for Grand Lodge of Scotland.
GLV = Grand Lodge of Victoria (now defunct) which existed 1883 to 1889.
UGLV = United Grand Lodge of Victoria founded in 1889, bringing together 181 Lodge in Victoria (114 EC, 33 IC, 15 SC and 19 GLV Lodges).
