Canterbury Surrey Hills Community Finance Ltd established and owns the Surrey Hills, Canterbury and now Ashburton & Balwyn Community Bank Branches which operate under a franchise agreement from Bendigo Bank. The Company was established by volunteers advocating on behalf of several community's to regain bank branches and also retain the profits from those branches locally. This community movement transformed into practical action in banking is now well known by many nationally.
Two members of Devotion were founding Directors of the Company. They acted as volunteers in that capacity because the profit the bank makes can be given to local community and non-for-profit groups. The bank has now returned over $6,000,000 to the local community through Sponsorship and Grants given to over 400 not-for-profit groups including sporting, social, cultural and community events and organisations.
Lodge Devotion supports the communities of Ashburton, Blawyn, Canterbury and Surrey Hills by banking with the Surrey Hills Branch.
